The Security of Sound: Mastering Public Speaking to Influence Leadership and Drive Change

In the security industry, technical brilliance is often the baseline, but effective communication is the ceiling. Many women in security struggle to have their voices heard in boardrooms or on global stages, not due to a lack of expertise, but a lack of “”vocal authority”” and storytelling tools.
Led by a global security leader who transitioned from the male-dominated mining fields of Colombia to leading 35+ countries, this interactive workshop bridges the gap between technical knowledge and influential delivery. Drawing inspiration from public speaking masters and the presenter’s own journey of overcoming “”imposter syndrome”” through the power of dreams, participants will learn how to structure a narrative that sticks.

We will explore the “”Physics of Presence””, using body language, vocal variety, and strategic storytelling to turn data into a compelling call to action. Attendees will participate in hands-on exercises to “”pitch”” security initiatives to leadership, ensuring they leave not just with a plan, but with the confidence to execute it. This session is for the leader who is ready to stop being the “”best-kept secret”” in her organization and start becoming the most influential voice in the room.

  1. At the end of the session, participants will be able to utilize vocal variety and body language techniques to command authority during high-stakes business meetings and public presentations.
  2. At the end of the session, participants will be able to apply storytelling frameworks to translate complex technical security risks into compelling narratives that resonate with non-technical executive leadership.
  3. At the end of the session, participants will be able to demonstrate improved confidence by practicing “”impromptu”” speaking exercises designed to handle difficult questions during live presentations or audits.”
