We’ve navigated tough rooms, absorbed hard lessons, and rolled with more than a few punches. We know the “tea!” Experience brings clarity. And at this stage – we’re ready to let go of the past and use it!
Early in our careers, we might be conditioned to stay quiet – to avoid conflict, to not appear difficult, and to prove ourselves only through performance rather than voice. Over time, these moments compound: being talked over in meetings, having ideas minimized, navigating condescension, or carrying the weight of conversations we wish we had handled differently.
By the middle of our careers, experience brings clarity. We recognize patterns, understand workplace dynamics, and see the cost of silence – not only on our confidence, but on our leadership, growth, and influence. Yet many professionals still hold onto years of unspoken moments, replaying what they should have said rather than stepping into what they can say now.
This is an interactive, funny, and candid session that explores how mid-career experience reshapes our voice and why this stage of professional life is often the turning point for confident communication. Participants will reflect on moments where they stayed silent, release the self-judgment attached to those experiences, and learn practical tools for speaking up with clarity, professionalism, and impact moving forward.
Through real-world scenarios and peer discussion attendees will leave with a sense of solidarity and be empowered to address challenging situations in the moment – without burning bridges, being unprofessional, shrinking themselves, or carrying the emotional weight of unresolved conversations for years to come.

She serves on the SIA board reviewing school safety protocols and is a vocal advocate against unsafe barricade devices, recently featured bypass for her work in advancing safer learning environments.
Outside of work, Amber is a proud mom to a 19-year-old daughter, has been with her husband for 16 years, and lives in Fishers, Indiana with their two French bulldogs. She’s also an avid reader and Bookstagram creator who loves psychological thrillers and spooky reads
